Introduction
Hello, my name is Alexander and today I will show you in depth how you can use the Virtual Writing Tutor for everyday use. I’ve been studying Social Sciences for almost 2 years now at Ahuntsic College in Montreal. I am in Commerce, and I think it is a great program for someone who would like to get started in the business world. We learn mostly about economics, mathematics, and business law. It is the perfect program for a future entrepreneur.
The Problem
In the future, it is very likely that you need to write an email to your boss or a very important client. That said, you will have to make sure that your email has no errors
because otherwise it could be perceived as not professional.
The Quest
Let’s go to the website now. First, you will have to open a new tab. In the address bar, at the top of the screen in the middle type the URL virtualwritingtutor.com and hit enter.
Once you’re on the website, you can see in the top right corner of the screen the Twitter icon, the Facebook icon, the Google icon, and the LinkedIn icon in case you would like to share this website.
In the top left corner of the screen, you can see the Virtual Writing Tutor logo.
Under the logo, there’s the navigation menu for information about the website, games, writing tools and other helpful stuff.
Right under the navigation menu, you have every option that the website offers.
In the middle of the screen, you have the text area where you can paste the text you want to check out.
In the bottom right corner of the text area, you have multiple options such as the check spelling, the speech recognition, and the text-to-speech which can come in handy when you don’t know how to pronounce a word.
The Solution
For my field of study, the most important tool would be the Check Grammar tool. In the text area, you simply write or paste the email you have written for example: “Hello Mr. Smith, I would like for us to meet next Tursday to talk about the possibility of investing your money in foregn stocks.”. As you can see, I have two mistakes in my text. To correct the mistakes, you simply click on the Check Grammar spelling button above the text area.
The misspelled words will appear in the feedback area right under the text area. The words will also be underlined in red. Go on them and use the right click on the mouse to select the correct spelling.
In the feedback area, you can also see how many words you have, how many paragraphs you have, the number of mistakes you have in the text and the error density.
It can also be useful for when I’m not sure about the pronunciation. Just type the word in the text area and then click on the text-to-speech icon to hear the good pronunciation. Annuity.
The Conclusion
This website is the perfect tool for anyone. Whether you are someone new to the English language or someone whom English is their first language, this website can be used for many scenarios, and it is very simple to use. I hope this helped. Thank you for watching.
